Joel Lyssarides “Echoes”
Pianist Joel Lyssarides releases his new single “Echoes” today.
“Echoes” is another precursor to the upcoming album “Stay Now”, which will be released on January 22, 2022. In his home country Sweden, Joel Lyssarides is considered the piano rising star of the moment. And although his name may be familiar mostly to scene insiders outside of Sweden so far, the recordings of the pianist born in 1992 are already among the most listened to in European jazz.
The songs for the album were created in a secluded house in the forest. He preferred to compose his songs at night.
He utilized the magical moment of quiet, darkness, and solitude. Thus, “Echoes” also captures the principle of space, time, and sound. He is accompanied by bassist Niklas Fernqvist and drummer Rasmus Blixt. In “Echoes”, however, he surprises more by the fact that through his piano runs, sometimes Niklas or Rasmus unexpectedly venture on a completely different course. Like two opposing players. Piano jazz that nevertheless seeks its tranquility in its progressions.
