Vincent Meissner Trio “Wille”
The jazz trio led by Vincent Meissner releases the album “Wille” today.
The Vincent Meissner Trio is considered one of the new hopes of German jazz. MDR Kultur and Deutschlandfunk had already reported on it and were thoroughly enthusiastic about the trio’s style.
On this new work, the band has grown even closer together and once again increased its own joy of playing. Immediately after the first recordings, they tried out new pieces, tested ideas, and simply continued as if nothing had happened before.
On “Wille”, the band approaches the work with a significantly freer approach. Open passages appear repeatedly, which has changed the sound once again. They also act more emotionally and fully live out their love for more complex forms. They engage in new structures, tear them down again, and develop a new playing idea in the next moment.
