Jazz at Berlin Philharmonic X II “Sketches of Miles”

Jazz at Berlin Philharmonic X II release “Sketches of Miles”.
Miles Davis performed at the first Jazzfest Berlin in 1964 and was the star guest there a total of eight times. 30 years after his death and in fond remembrance, Siggi Loch, the curator of “Jazz at Berlin Philharmonic”, has created a true musical monument with “Sketches of Miles”. The Theo Croker Quartet and the members of the Berlin Philharmonic, under the direction of Magnus Lindgren, are thus following in big footsteps. The result is a dazzling and impressive homage to the jazz legend.
The program is divided into two parts. The first part consists of highlights from Miles Davis’ band recordings. The second part is complemented by the members of the Berlin Philharmonic with the Theo Croker Quartet. For this, three suites arranged especially for the evening from the orchestral albums “Miles Ahead”, “Porgy and Bess”, and “Sketches of Spain” were performed.
Jazz at Berlin Philharmonic X II “Sketches of Miles” is now available digitally as well as physically.
